To the family of Emily, words cannot express the loss of your loved one. Emily was an elegant lady I met so many years ago that I got to know from her various roles in the community of Sussex from being the mayor to many service organizations. I was fortunate enough to be her travel agent for a time and whenever I asked her if I could do any arrangements different, her reply was always everything was wonderful. My thoughts are with you. Uncle Tony and cousin Andrew, Here's to all the wonderful memories made during our family reunions in NB when we were just kids. I remember being about 8 or 9 and aunt Em taking us all to the local swimming pool one day and what fun we had. I remember being in awww of her confidence and timeless beauty. As the former, Director , Addictions and Mental Health I had the distinct honor/privilidge to have worked with Emily on mutual cases, and , could see , she was foremost committed to the mental health of these clients. Her compassion was an inspiration not often seen in the legal field....Later as my career developed I had the distinction of working with Emily's son...Judge Andrew Palmer. Certainly you immediately could see and dare I say feel the same compassion for the accused /clients within the judicial system....Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and we hope that knowing how well Emily was loved in her community will bring you some saving grace as we share your grief. Dear Aunt Em, I remember the fun times we had when we came to NB for so many summers as kids. We couldn’t wait to see our cousins, our aunts and uncles… we lived 3000 miles away, but I believe that only made our reunions that more special. We just picked up where we left off. I remember your warm hugs and kisses, story telling, laughter and the occasional smart remark. I remember you and I cruising the McDonald’s drive through in Calgary….we misbehaved and went through it twice. Once for burgers and the 2nd time for dessert lol. These are the memories i will keep close when I think of you… we will miss you Aunt Em. Fredericton will always be home. Love and condolences to Cousin Andrew and Uncle Tony. Emily was in the beginning of my life our family lawyer, then later on assisted with legal matters once I started into adulthood then became a client of mine when I was hairdressing down the street from the office. I loved having her in my chair and enjoyed many chats while I did her hair. She was an amazing woman. Her eyes would light up when she spoke about her grandchildren & family time.
