Just in case I don't get to the service, I want all of you to know that I loved Elva, too. She was a lovely, kind person, who never seem to let things bother her. She was a great person to talk to because she always listened and always seem to know about any conversation you could bring up. I am going to miss her too, especially when hunting season comes each year, or berries are ready, she will certainly come to my mind. How will I find blueberries with out her advice?

My condolences to all family members far and wide of Elva. She was such a sweet person and a lovely cook. Our family relationship goes all the way back to Lower Ridge and Creek Road, going to church in Havelock and Killam's Mills, singing with Doris and Elva in Church in Havelock. Oh so many memories of our family visits to your family home in Lower Ridge and Canaan to finally in her dream log home to a wonderful meal. I shall never forget her joy of showing us her house and property that she and Whitfield had created, Darien playing the piano to entertain us. What a wonderful time. May God ease your pain and bless you all mightily in all your going forward.

Dear Whit and family. My condolences on your loss. My heart is heavy but full of love and memories. As a 17 year old from the back woods of NB to the streets of Toronto with Elva in this big boat of a car with fins that felt like they took up two lanes learning from her how to drive on Kennedy Road. To road racing in the souped up VW you created for her and her laughing so hard she had tears running when she would say Alice we are going to leave these young bucks in our dust and when the light turned green her foot would hit the gas and off we would go barrelling down the road as fast as traffic would allow. Elva sitting beside me in the basement prayer room at Greenwood saying “you better get the Holy Ghost tonight” with such love. So many memories and all special —a testimony of a life well lived. We were so shocked and sad to hear of Elva's passing. Even though we know she's in a far far better place, she will be greatly missed by so many.
