Obituary of Eldon Lloyd MacKay
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Eldon Lloyd MacKay announce his peaceful passing on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Kiwanis Nursing Home in Sussex, NB. Eldon was born in Wards Creek, NB on November 20, 1940, and was a son of the late John and Louise (Forgrave) MacKay.
Eldon spent his early years starting his family and running the family farm in Picadilly, followed by many years after that as a skilled carpenter. In his retirement, his time was well spent watching his grandchildren in their various sporting endeavours.
Eldon and Elizabeth were devoted Toronto Blue Jays fans. When the Blue Jays were on a West Coast Swing, they would even alter their sleep schedules to be able to catch the late-night games on television.
Eldon will live on in the hearts of his children: Brenda MacKay of Saint John, NB, Cathy MacKay (Winston) of Sussex, NB, Brad MacKay (Ashley) of Sussex, NB, and Ian MacKay (Heather) of Newline, NB; his grandchildren: Alexie Watson (Mitch), Ethan Richardson, Sara MacKay, Carter MacKay, Liam MacKay, Brennan MacKay, and Elena MacKay; and his great-grandchild, Hank Watson; his siblings: Charlie MacKay (Dianne) of Wards Creek, NB, Angus MacKay of Wards Creek, NB, Sydney MacKay (Dianne) of Wards Creek, NB, Danny MacKay (Leona) of Newline, NB, Alice Mallory of Dutch Valley, NB, Melbourne MacKay of Passekeag, NB, and Udaviellia Throop of Welsford, NB. Eldon is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Eldon was predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth of 54 years, and his siblings: Walter, Colby, Milton, Elmer, and Madeline Eagles.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). The family will gather Wednesday March 5 from 2-4 for private viewing. Internment and celebration of life will take place in the spring.
