Obituary of Malcolm Douthwright

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Malcolm Neal Douthwright announce his passing on April 17, 2025 at the Ridgewood Veteran’s Residence in Saint John, NB, previously of Picadilly, NB. Born in Harrison Settlement, NB on November 19, 1934, Malcolm was a son of the late Neil and Hazel (Harrison) Douthwright.  

First and foremost, Malcolm was a family man, who loved his family dearly and took great pride and interest in the lives of his children and grandchildren

Malcolm was a hard worker from childhood, growing up on a farm instilled all of the traits and character he would need. He served diligently in the Canadian Navy for 10 years, before becoming a mechanical supervisor and machinist with NB Power. He was never idle and could turn his hand at anything set in front of him.

Malcolm is survived his children: Linda Hawthorne of Picadilly, Weyman Watson (Tricia) of Willow Grove and Wayne Watson (Susan) of Garnet Settlement; his grandchildren: Tina, Crystal, Thomas, Kerri, Stephen, Amy and Melissa; 10 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; as well as several extended family members.

Besides his Parents, Malcolm was predeceased by his wife, Audrey; his son-in-law, Robert Hawthorne; his brothers; his sister and by his great grandson, Riley Brown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). In keeping with Malcolm’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral.

The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Lane Ridgewood for the excellent care that Malcolm received during his stay there.
