It is with much love and deep sadness that the family of Erin Elizabeth Dunfield announce her sudden passing at home in Woodstock, NB on April 20, 2025 at the age of 37.
Born in Moncton, NB on February 12, 1988; she was the daughter of Laurie (Fanjoy) Dunfield and the late Bryant Dunfield who passed away in 2015.
Erin was a firecracker, a beautiful ball of energy. As a child you wouldn’t dare have a playdate with her because she would wear the other child out trying to keep up with her. She had frequent flyer miles at the hospital, she was always getting hurt and could never find her shoes.
Erin was a proud daddy’s girl, she was her dad’s shadow and lived for every moment she could spend with him, even joining the Penobsquis Fire Department for a time.
Erin had a passion for the outdoors, she loved to go fishing, hunting and kayaking – but her obsession was collecting rocks. You could not leave her unattended at the beach, she would be filling bags with pretty rocks and shells. Erin loved bonfires and kitchen parties, and taking a million photographs. She also had a passion for animals; especially kitties, which was obvious by the whiskers tattoo she had on her finger.
She swore like a sailor, wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, and had a sense of humor that could turn any moment into a memory. She was strong, the backbone and glue to her little family.
Time spent with her family was what was most important to her, whether it was cuddling and watching movies or long talks and drives with Savannah or laughing and time spent on the bike with Dain – she was happiest with them.
Erin was always the first one to offer help if someone was sick or in need. She would give anything she had to help someone else, no matter how far she had to drive. She loved with her whole heart.
Her light will live on in the hearts and memories of her mom, Laurie Dunfield of Sussex Corner; the love of her life, Dain Tomilson of Woodstock; her mini me, Savannah Tomilson of Woodstock; her close “family”: Josh Wheaton and Sandra Wright; her dog, Cybil; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
Along with her dad, she is predeceased by her maternal grandparents: Cecil and Joan Fanjoy; her paternal grandparents: Roy and Mary Dunfield and by her infant grandson, Malakai.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (433-1176). A Celebration of Erin’s life will be held at the Wallace Community Chapel on April 28, 2025 at 1:00pm, followed by a time of fellowship with the family. The interment will take place at Cardwell Cemetery, Penobsquis, NB.
