Obituary of Joyce Fanjoy
It is with heavy hearts the family of Joyce Eileen (Forsythe) Fanjoy announce her passing at Scenic View Special Care Home on April 21, 2025.
Joyce was born in Waterford on June 15th, 1936; the youngest of eight children of the late Crandall and Mildred (Morrow) Forsythe.
Joyce married Carl Fanjoy in 1954 and they were fortunate enough to celebrate 67 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children Gary (Patty) Fanjoy of Mark Stay, Ontario, Coleen (David) Robinson of Wards Creek, NB and Heather (David) Boone of Mechanic Lake, NB and chosen daughter Cheryl (Danny) Keith of Millbrook. Grandchildren Erica, Josh, Leigh, Lori (Jamie), Michael (Brittany), Tracy, Lisa (Jason) Great grandchildren Jackson, Audrey, Oliver, Nicholas, Reid, Hailey, Hannah, Hudson, Maddison and Jordan. Niece and Goddaughter Janice (Patrick) Murray of Dartmouth NS, Nephew and Godson Jamie Forsythe (Debbie) of Berwick NB, sister-in-law Dorothy Howell and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce spent her life caring for her loved ones, attending to her mother during her final years, and always being there for husband and her children. She was a hard worker and did any job she took on with fervor. She loved to travel; if the road was ahead, she was ready to go. She had a zest for life that many of us would be fortunate to have.
She was well known for the pickles and jellies she made. Her tole painting was beautiful and she took many of her pieces to local craft fairs, enjoying the socializing with customers as much as the sales. Always busy with her hands, we admired both her work ethic and her talents.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband Carl, her son Trevor, siblings Thomas (Mary), Phyllis (Les, Elmer, Ernie), Noreen, Douglas (Doris), Lawrence, Allison (Beulah) and her dear sister and best friend Kay (Ken).
Thank you so much to Mercy and the staff at Scenic View Special Care Home for the welcoming home and care you provided.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex from where visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24th from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held from St Marks Anglican Church on Friday, April 25th at 11:00am with a reception to follow. A private burial to be held at a later date.
