Obituary of Grover Arthur Sharpe
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Grover Arthur “Sonny” Sharpe announce his passing on April 25, 2025, at the Orchard View Special Care Home in Gagetown, NB. Born in Marrtown, NB on January 17, 1937, Sonny was a son of the late Roy and Eliza (Steen) Sharpe.
Sonny and his wife, Myrna, built a life in Fredericton, NB, where he established a lifelong business as a welder. He was dedicated to his trade and to his loyal customers up into his later years.
Sonny is survived his wife, Myrna (Middleton) Sharpe; his son, Derrick Sharpe of Fredericton; his grandchildren: Marcelaus and Anthony; his great grandchild, Atticus, and mother, Rachel; his brothers: Gordon Sharpe (Norma) of Westfield and Lloyd Sharpe (Brenda) of Hammondvale; his sisters: Evelyn Fanjoy of Jemseg, Elva MacLean (Tal) of Sussex, Eva Stewart of Sussex Corner, and Elsie Bowland (Donnie) of Hampton. Sonny is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his Parents, Sonny was predeceased by his son, Michael, who passed away May 28, 1970; his brothers, George and Lawrence; and his sister, Edith.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 30 from 1-2pm, followed by a celebration of Sonny’s life at 2:30pm from the Wallace Community Chapel.
