Obituary of Jean Bowie
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Marie Bowie announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 1, 2025 at the age of 67.
Born in Saint John, NB; she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Pauline (Holden) McCutcheon.
She will be remembered for her work with St. Francis Xavier Church- Parish Council, Altar serving Co-Ordinator, Social Committee and Pew Pals. She loved her altar servers and going to church early, so that she was nearby if they had any questions.
She always saw the goodness in other people and made them feel really good about themselves.
Jean would reach out to her children every day to compare Wordle results or to just ask how they were doing. They admired her for the fact that she was such a good listener, and she never picked sides. Due to this, she was a great peacekeeper (which probably explained why she was attracted to Al, another peacekeeper.)
She will live on in the hearts of the love of her life, Allan Bowie of Sussex Corner; their loving children: Matthew Bowie of Saint John and Natalie Bowie (Bryce Bishop) of Fredericton; her sister, Louise Belding of Saint John and her sons: Duane and Jeff Belding (Kim); her aunt and best friend, Marilee Roberts; her uncle, Bill Harding; her brothers-in-law: Doug Bowie, Jim Bowie (Gail), Gordon Bowie (Terri), John Bowie (Darlene), Mike Bowie (Ruth), Albert Bowie (Dawn) and Philip Bowie; her sisters-in-law: Mary Connolly (Philip) and Elaine Bowie (Kenny Mason); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Betty Jane McCutcheon and by her brothers-in-law: Bill Bowie and Anthony Bowie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Saint Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00am. The Interment will take place at Wards Creek Cemetery, followed by a time of fellowship at the church hall.
Donations to the Saint Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Donations and personal condolences to the family may be made through www.wallacefuneralhome.com
