Obituary of Rose Marie Hurley

It is with deepest sadness that that we announce the sudden passing of Rose Marie Hurley, formerly of Marrtown, NB, at her residence in Norton, NB on May 6, 2025, with her life partner Molly, and her beloved dog, Boomer, by her side.

Born on May 9, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Joan (Merrick) Gratto, and sister of the late “Blimp” Gratto.

Rose loved the simple things; her beloved dog, Boomer, working in her garden, shopping, music, and drives by the sea.

Mostly, she loved life and the people in it, even though at times neither were easy for her to deal with.

She had an incredible strength and undeniable light to make others smile, no matter how she was feeling herself.

Rose is survived by her life partner, (Molly) Marie E. Scott of Marrtown, NB; her brother, Wayne Gratto; her sister Jeanie Gratto, both of Nova Scotia; she is also survived by her aunt, Judy (Merrick) Wood (Jerry), along with many friends and extended family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). In keeping with Rose’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
