Obituary of Patricia Friars
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Patricia (Loughery) Friars announce her passing at the Sussex Health Centre on May 18, 2025 at the age of 72.
Born in Saint John, NB she was the daughter of the late Talmadge and Faith (Killam) Loughery.
Tonight, we raise our glasses in honor of Pattie, a woman of depth and contrast—a spirit both tender and untamed, sweet and fierce. She carried life’s joys and burdens with grace, and when faced with the storms, she stood tall like the wild mares she so loved. She was strength, she was fire, and she was freedom. As she returns to the boundless fields of her heart, may she ride once more with the wind at her back, her soul unbridled and untethered. To Pattie—may she forever ride through her wild ways, free and fearless. Cheers to a life well lived, and a soul never forgotten.
She will live on in the hearts of her sons: Brad (Nicole) of Saskatchewan and Joshua (Cait) of Sussex; her siblings: Lynette Loughery (Mario Gagnon), Heather Boel, David Loughery, Billy Loughery (Wanda) and Tom Loughery (Bonnie); her grandchildren: Jade, Blake, Kamryn (Mac) and Skylar; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Neil Friars who passed away in 2002; her brother-in-law, Hans Boel and her sister-in-law, Gale Loughery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). As per her wishes there will be no visitation or funeral.
Donations to a animal charity of your choosing or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Donations and personal condolences to the family may be made through www.wallacefuneralhome.com
