Obituary of Richard Charlton

It is with love and sadness the family of Richard Andrew Charlton announces his passing on May 29, 2025 after a long and courageous battle. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Richard was born in Sussex on July 14, 1969, he was the son of Ruth (Finniss) and the late Russell Charlton.

He had a strong passion for transports. He found both purpose and pride behind the wheel weather it was his own trucks or someone else’s. The twinkle in his eye when he got behind that wheel to his next route really showed his passion.

Over the years Richard has made lots of friends on and off the roads. When he was not driving you could find him enjoying his time either on his front deck in Apohaqui with his loving dog, Duke or enjoying the peacefulness he found at the cottage in Grand Lake.

He will live on in the hearts of his loving family, his children: Marcus (Samantha) of Belleisle Creek and Megan of Apohaqui; the mother of his children, Stacey (Rouse) Charlton; his mother, Ruth Charlton of Apohaqui; His siblings: Wanda (Ed White) of Apohaqui, Dan of Palm Desert, CA and Connie (Mike Armstrong) of Apohaqui; as well as several nieces and nephews: Brendan White, Chad White (Anne), Kelsie Graham (Nolan), Devan Armstrong (Erica) and Kristin Armstrong; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friend.

Richard is predeceased by his father, Russell Charlton; his sister, Cheryl Charlton-Howe; his uncles: Lorne and Burpee Finniss and by his grandparents: LeBaron and Meta Finniss.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A celebration of Richard’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 2:00pm with Pastor Tim MacDonald officiating.
