Lorraine Polley

Obituary of Lorraine Ellen Polley

It is with deep sadness that the family of Lorraine Ellen Polley announce her passing, which occurred peacefully at her home on July 2, 2025, with her family by her side.

Born in Stanley, NB, on November 24, 1959, she was the beloved daughter of Margery (Dorcas) Hay and the late Ernest Hay.

Lorraine lived a vibrant life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Her home in the woods was her sanctuary; a peaceful haven where she felt deeply connected to the beauty around her. She cherished her “funny farm,” finding joy in the simple pleasures of animals, nature, and the tranquility of country life.

Family was the center of Lorraine’s world. She adored her children and grandchildren, and her love for them was limitless.

Above all else, Lorraine was deeply devoted to her husband, Kenny. The love they shared was so powerful and pure, it was unmistakable to anyone who saw them together. Kenny was her whole world, and she loved him with a depth that words can hardly capture. Their bond was something truly rare and beautiful.

She was a true wanderer at heart—she loved to travel and explore new places, always embracing the journey with a sense of wonder.

Whether camping under the stars, tending to her garden, or simply spending time with loved ones, Lorraine made every moment feel special.

Her warmth, humor, and fierce love will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Ken Polley of Jeffries Corner, NB; her mother, Margery Hay; her children: Kyle Smith (Michelle) of Sussex, NB, and Meranda Smith of Jeffries Corner, NB; her grandchildren: Brandon Davis, Hudson Smith and Harper Smith; her siblings: Kevin Hay (Karen) of Waterford, NB, Larry Hay (Sandra) of Plumweseep, NB, Stuart Hay (Wendy) of New Line, NB, and Tina Jones (Les) of Moncton, NB; her mother-in-law, Greta Polley; her brother-in-law, Gerald Polley (Barb); and her best friend and soul sister, Dianne McFarlane. Lorraine is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lorraine was predeceased by her father, Ernest Hay; her father-in law, Walter Polley; and her nephew, Adam Hay.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176). In keeping with Lorraine’s wishes, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025, at 33 Wilkie Drive, New Line, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
