Obituary of Howard Green

It is with deep sadness the family of Howard George Green announce his peaceful passing at home on July 6th after fighting a courageous battle.

Born on October 6, 1958, he was the oldest of eleven children. Growing up in East Scotch Settlement life was simple and quiet, other than the continuous banter of siblings. There was always someone in your face one moment and had your back the next.

After moving out Howard was known for his love of cars. Buying, selling, trading vehicles – you never knew what he was going to be driving. He wasn’t called Peug for nothing, after the Peugeot he drove at one point. In the last few years his new toy was a ’66 Ford F100 and he enjoyed attending the local car shows.

Howard was a man of many talents; there wasn’t a meal anything but delicious, an acreage of trees he couldn’t harvest, a piece of equipment he couldn’t run nor a family member or friend he didn’t love.

Howard lived life on his own terms. He played hard and loved life, family and friends. He enjoyed laughing and joking and could always be counted on to help someone out.

Howard worked in the woods for many years. Then off to the west for 18 years operating heavy equipment. In more recent years he operated a dozer for EJ Cunningham, which he enjoyed and was good at.

Howard is survived by his partner Kelly Tayes, his son Blake (Tamara), grandchildren Blayre, Ethan, Daisy and Liam, his father Arthur, siblings Barry (Susan), Kathy, Beth Edwards (Glendon), Scott, Patsy McGrath (Paul), Kevin (Wanda), Joe (Charlene), Polly MacKenzie (John), Korena/Tina (Harold Denney) and Evelyn. Howard was predeceased by his mother Irene (Molasky) and his daughter Robin. Howard is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family and many, many friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, 506-433-1176, where visitation will take place on Thursday, July 10th from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A graveside service will be held at the Stewarton United Church Cemetery on the East Scotch Settlement Road on July 11th at 2:30pm and a Celebration of Life will be held following the service at the Belleisle Community Centre in Springfield. All are welcome to attend both as per Howard’s wishes.

Donations to the Stewarton United Church or donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.  Condolences to the family and donation may be made through WallaceFuneralHome.com
