Obituary of Winslow Linden

It is with sadness but deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Winslow George Linden, who passed away peacefully in his 100th year on July 12, 2025. Born in Picadilly, NB on August 18, 1925, Winslow was the son of the late Harry and Bessie (Mercer) Linden.

Winslow was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Harry and Mervyn Linden. He leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his nieces, Wanda Linden and Anne Cook, and is fondly remembered by his close friends, Oren MacLean and Hazen Cook.

Winslow was a man defined by his strength, work ethic, and generosity. A true woodsman, he spent much of his life working in the forest and tending to his own woodlot in Norton. He drove truck for a surveying team out west and built two of his own homes—alongside his brother—with a careful hand and a craftsman’s eye.

He lent his talents wherever he could: working for a summer at the Fairway Inn, spending time on a farm in Millstream, and always taking pride in a job done right. Whether it was a perfectly straight furrow in a field or a neatly stacked pile of firewood, Winslow’s work was always a mark of precision and pride.

Kind-hearted and humble, Winslow was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. His quiet strength, steady hands, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

In honoring Winslow's memory, we remember not only the work he did, but the honest, gentle soul behind it all.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 10-11am . A service celebrating Winslow's life will be held at Wallace’s Funeral Home Chapel immediately following. The interment will take place in Pioneer Cemetery, Penobsquis, NB.
