Obituary of Gwendoline Craft
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gwendoline Rose Craft announce her passing on July 20, 2025 from the Saint John Regional Hospital. Gwen was born on February 17, 1937, in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Joyce (Carhart) Doyle and wife of the late Ronald Craft who passed away in 2001.
Gwen had a fierce spirit and a heart full of love. A proud redhead with a fiery temper and an even fiercer love for her family, she was happiest surrounded by those she held dear—especially during the holidays when her home sparkled with Christmas decorations.
She took great pride in her flower garden, loved to bake for her family, and found delight in watching hummingbirds and cardinals from her window. Her strong work ethic was evident in her time of service in housekeeping at the Saint John General Hospital, the Bluebird Motel and the Fairway Motel.
Gwen was a proud nanny, a devoted wife, mother, sister, and a woman who never hesitated to speak her mind or stand her ground. Her legacy of strength, love, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will live on in the hearts of her children: Eugene Craft and Ruby Linfield of Sussex, Sandra Carson and her husband Kevin of Smithtown and Blair Craft and his wife Sherri of Sussex; her daughter-in-law Joanne Craft; her brother Grover Doyle and his wife Joan of Carsonville; and her sister Barbara Henderson and her husband Bernard of Salisbury; She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Tanya MacDonald (Jason), Joyce Craft (Shawn Reicker), Stacey Tays (Carl), Joseph, Melissa Baxter (Russell), Sheldon, Brent, and Alex; her five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gwen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald Craft, and her sister, Ethel Patterson.
