Tereca Carr

Obituary of Tereca Carr

It is with sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Tereca Audrey Carr, on Thursday, July 24th, which occurred at her residence in Saint John, NB.  Tereca was born on February 2, 1965 in Sussex, NB; a daughter of the late Glendon and Dorothy (Gaudet) Carr of Picadilly, NB.

Tereca is survived by her brother Gregory (Carol) of Sussex Corner; sisters Anne (Doug) Beaumont of Upper Coverdale and Patricia Seeley (Paul Carten) of Urney. Tereca adored, and will be lovingly remembered by her eight nieces and nephews: Elisa (Ken) Rogers, Brent (Missy) Carr, Corey Carr (Marie Arsenault), Laura Ann Carr, Jayne Seeley (Adam Cusak), Jackie (Clint) Kelly, Jim Seeley and Jared (Shelby) Beaumont: as well as great nieces and great nephews, Laura, Riley, Ella, Katie, Alex, Kenton, Klara, Seth, Jack, Sheala, Micheal, George, Anna, Marissa, Edward and Nathaniel. She is also survived by one aunt, Mary (Austin) Richardson of Black’s Harbour, and several cousins.

Tereca graduated from Sussex High School and then the University of New Brunswick.  She was very active in sports and school activities in her youth.  She had several jobs in the travel and hospitality sector which allowed her to have wonderful travel adventures and work terms in places such as Italy and Florida (her favourite being the beaches of Sanibel Island).  Tereca’s love of cooking and her generous heart allowed many people to experience a great meal, some of her tasty muffins or jams and salsa. She loved to take our mother and her friend Jean on car trips throughout the Maritimes and even as far as Florida and Toronto.  Tereca was an avid Blue Jays supporter, as well as an ardent fan at Bryan Adams concerts. Life was good when she could be curled up on the sofa with her cat Gracie.

Tereca’s wonderful smile will be greatly missed. We will cherish our favourite memories. The family expresses sincere thanks to cousin Keith (her birthday twin) and her special (since childhood) friend Lori, for their steadfast friendship to Tereca over the years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex.  A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations to honour Tereca may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, the Strays of Sussex (cat rescue) or a charity of the donor’s choice.
