Obituary of Audrey Elizabeth Cook

It is with deep sadness that the family of Audrey Elizabeth Cook announce her passing, which occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on August 17, 2025. Born in Rockville, NB on August 16, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Ira Sr. and Margaret (McFarlane) Gulliver.

Audrey was very industrious and did not have difficulty filling up her time. She was an avid crafter and gardener and could be found fussing in the gardens – even when her family thought she shouldn’t be. She was an active member of her local Women’s Institute and loved decorating for any and every season of the year. She also loved sewing and knitting, always having an ample supply of her wares to share with others.

Audrey is survived by her children: Martin Cook (Diana Briggs) of Lower Millstream, NB, Cindy Ann Cook (Johnny Sprott) of Plumweseep, NB, and special friend, Anne Cook; her grandchildren: Codi-Jo, Jessie, Brandon, and Luke; and her great grandchildren: Jaidon, Denver, Adam, Carcella, and Hailey. Audrey is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Audrey was predeceased by her loving husband, Wally; her brothers: Ira Jr. (late Rose) and Douglas Gulliver; her sister, Lois Lynch (late Thomas); and her grandson, Alex Cook.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 20 from 12-2pm, followed by celebration of Audrey’s life at 2:00pm from the Wallace Community Chapel. The interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, August 25 at 11:00am.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the IWK, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Donations and personal condolences to the family may be made through www.wallacefuneralhome.com
