Obituary of Don Berrette

It is with deep sadness that the family and friends of Alex Dan “Don” Berrette announces his passing on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Coxheath, NS on April 29, 1950, Don was the son of the late Dan and Sarah (Briand) Berrette.

Don is survived by his daughter, Tina Madden (Jamie) of Port Hawkesbury, NS; his siblings: Helen Losier (Jean Paul) of Rivière-à-la-Truite, NB, Cecil Berrette (Peggy) and Jimmy Berrette (Christine) all of Cape Breton, NS; his brother-in-law, Gerry Melanson of Alberta; his grandsons: Keiran and Benjamin; his special friends: Cindy Cobb and Peter Hynes; as well as several nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.

Along with his parents, Don was predeceased by his son, Donnie Brighteyes Berrette; his sisters: Viola MacIntosh (John) and Judith Melanson; and by his brother who passed in childhood, John Berrette.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 10 from 5-8pm.
