Frances Lillian DeVine (Tingley) of Hillsdale passed away on October 8th, 2025, at Mill Cove Nursing Home, at the age of 89 years.

Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, on July 16th, 1936, she was the daughter of Gerald and Gladys (Glidden) Tingley.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Michael in 2010; her daughter, Linda in 2007; her infant son, John Wayne in 1957; her daughter-in-law, Patricia (Rodney) in 2023, siblings: Evelyn McMackin (Tom), Perley Tingley (Florence), Mirnsey Tingley (Genny), brothers-in-law: Melbourne Buchanan, Gerald DeVine, Elward DeVine (Kathleen), and her father and mother-in-law, Joe and Tressa DeVine.

Mom is survived and sadly missed by her sons: Joey, Rodney, Brian, Harold (Maria), Walter (Vivian), and daughter Donna Beyer (Stan), as well as her son-in-law, Billy Beech;  Her grandchildren: Charlene (Marko) Mladineo, Christopher Beech, Melissa DeVine (Brian), Dwayne DeVine, Jacob DeVine, Stefan Beyer (Sara), Marcus Beyer, and Brandon Beyer (Andrea); her Great-grandchildren: Marekk, Mahayla, Dominic, Ryder, Brooke, Braylee, Breaunna, Tenille, Lucilla, Ira, Henry, and Ellie.

She is also survived by brothers Walter Tingley and sister-in-law Connie, sisters: Marina Buchanan, Ethel Payne and brother-in-law Jimmy, Patsy DeVine and brother-in-law Walter, along with Susan Beck and Vivian Sturgess of Barrie, Ontario, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mom and Dad were married February 12, 1955, at St. Anthony's Church in Upham, New Brunswick. They made their home in Hillsdale where they raised seven children. Mom and Dad worked hard for what they had. A high point came in 1972 when they moved their family to a new home built by Bruce Vey and Dad. They were together 55 years until Dad’s passing on October 27, 2010.

Mom was the heart of our home in Hillsdale — a country lady who loved her family beyond measure. She had no desire to travel far from home, for she had everything she wanted in the simple things: flowers in the summer, a good homemade meal, and her family. She showed more patience and kindness than we sometimes deserved.

She loved when company stopped by and always had a meal or treats on hand. Mom loved her outings with her daughter, Linda and their bingo nights spent together. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart — she was always doting on them and calling to keep up on everything they were doing.

God gave us the very best, for our mom was the true definition of “mother” — always kind, always helping, patient, and loving. We will miss her until we are together again.
