Obituary of Doreen Barton
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Doreen Carol Barton announce her passing at the Moncton City Hospital on October 13, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born on May 26, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Vincent and Fannie Caroline (Ogden) Voutour, and the beloved wife of the late Clarence Barton, who passed away in 1993.
Doreen lived life her own way — full of fire, humor, and heart. She loved to smoke, eat, and drink tea, and could often be found bowling, playing bingo, or traveling. She drove like a bat out of hell, loved Yahtzee, cards, and board games, and was always the life of the party.
Doreen adored her garden and her flowers, and she was as funny as she was stubborn — tough as nails and sweet as pie, all rolled into one.
She had a heart of pure gold. Doreen loved to take care of others and would give her last dollar to anyone in need. If you ever visited her, you might later find she’d tucked a small gift or bit of money into your pocket — just her quiet way of showing love.
She will live on in the hearts of her children: Kim Riley of Riverview; Kim Barton (Robert) of Norton; Scott MacDonald (Candy) of Riverview; Chantelle McClure (Todd) of Shediac; and Alistair Jardine of Calgary. She is also survived by her brothers: Paul Voutour (Gail) of Gagetown, John Voutour (Brenda) of Saskatchewan, and Kenneth Voutour (Lana) of Saskatchewan; her sisters: Cheryl Simpson (Lloyd) of Sussex and Mary Voutour of Moncton; her grandchildren Justin (Jenna), Michael (Alyssa), Tristan (Jessica), Candace Sargent (Andrew), and Dylan; and her great-grandchildren Quinn, Dominic, Caleb, Khloe, Tanner, and a baby on the way. She will also be remembered by many half-siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her parents and loving husband, Doreen was predeceased by her sister, Hilda and her brothers: Walter, Larry, Anthony, and Gary.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). At Doreen’s request, all arrangements will be held privately. Interment will take place at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Cemetery in Minto on Friday, October 17th at 11:00am.
