Obituary of Miriam Tabor
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Miriam Louise “Mim” Tabor formerly of Poodiac, NB who passed away on October 21st, 2025 at Primrose Cottage Special Care Home, Lower Millstream, New Brunswick at the age of 77.
Born in Sussex, New Brunswick on June 5th 1948, she was the daughter of the late Hazen and Verna (Parlee) Tabor.
Mim grew up in Poodiac, New Brunswick and graduated from Sussex Composite High School in 1968. She spent most of her adult years living in the Apohaqui and Lower Millstream communities where she was actively involved in the Wesley United Church-Millstream Pastoral Charge and the Sussex and Area Activity Center.
Mim was a unique person and was a model of gratitude, contentment and happiness. She enjoyed doing handwork and crocheting; anything from pillow covers, bedspreads, flowers, wreaths, and squares to put teapots on. She was so happy to give these gifts to her friends at Primrose Cottage and church and to visitors. Often these gifts were accompanied by advice.
Mim was a hard worker and often commented on her experiences living as a child on a farm and helping in the kitchen. At Primrose Cottage, she enjoyed helping everyone by sewing on buttons, hemming pants, and other small jobs. She lived at Betty Webb’s for a time and enjoyed helping her with kitchen work even after she moved on to Primrose Cottage. Mim was a private person who had specific firm ideas, a strong faith in God, and love of nature; especially butterflies, birds, and flowers.
In this last year, Mim enjoyed sitting out on the back deck taking note of changes in the seasons, trees, river, and sometimes napping. She had several good friends but she formed a special bond with her friend Helen and especially loved her homemade hamburgers!
Thank you Mim for all you have given us.
Mim was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mim was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Savoy and her husband, Bill.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). A graveside service for Miriam will take place on Wednesday, October 29 at 2:00pm from the Wesley United Cemetery (958 Route 880, Berwick, NB).
Donations can be made in her memory to the Wesley United Church, Sussex Vale Transition House and/or Donor’s choice, would be greatly appreciated.
