Obituary of Helen Frances Armstrong
It is with deep sadness that the family of Helen Frances Armstrong announce her passing, which occurred at The Village, Loch Lomond Villa on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Born in Belleisle Creek, NB on April 2, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Emery and Georgie (Northrup) Morrell.
Helen will live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren meant everything to her and she loved spoiling them. she was selfless in everything she did, always giving to bless others.
Helen had a strong Christian faith that shone through in everything she did. Helen’s legacy will be Scenic View special care home which she and Tom built together. She was a strong businesswoman looking after the finances for Tom’s many businesses and finally Scenic View special care home, where she lovingly cared for their residents as family, taking them to appointments and spending time talking, doing bible study and puzzles. Every resident felt special. Helen had a strong family bond with all her siblings especially her sisters and enjoyed when they came to visit her. She was an excellent baker and could be found baking every Saturday morning -- mostly for Tom, but when she knew you were coming, she would bake your favourite. Helen’s earlier jobs included bank teller and Avon representative which she thrived at. She was a stay-at-home mom when the kids were little but always liked working outside the home so she became an Avon representative which she could work around the school hours and then back to being a bank teller when the children got older.
Helen will live on in the hearts of her children: Richard Armstrong (Sheila) of Sussex, NB, Kelly Legere (Ed) of Quispamsis, NB, Debbie Bowes (David) of Rothesay, NB,; her grandchildren: Joshua Thomas James Bowes (Olivia), Jack Philip Bowes, Zachary Thomas Legere, and Ariel Skyeann Armstrong; her siblings: Murray Morrell of Saint John, NB, Weyman Morrell of Sussex, NB, Jean Randall of Ottawa, ON, Carol Otis of Norton, NB, Sharon MacLeod (David) of Sussex, NB, and Roena Morrell of Sussex, NB.
Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Elmer Armstrong; her son, Mark Armstrong; her brothers; Leslie Morrell, Ronald Morrell, Fred Morrell, and Wesley Morrell; and her sister, Hattie Oakley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28 from 12-2pm. A celebration of Helen’s life will follow at 2:30pm.
