Obituary of Monique Aubry

Marie Monique Pierrette Aubry

October 16, 1957 – January 24, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Monique Aubry announce her peaceful passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 24, 2026 at the age of 68.

Monique was born in Montreal, Quebec on October 16, 1957; she was the daughter of the late Gilles and Stella (McIntyre) Aubry. In her later years, she made her home in Sussex, New Brunswick.

Throughout her working years, Monique followed her many talents and passions, working as a florist, barber, chef, and professional baker.

She was happiest when creating something with her hands—whether cooking and baking for those she loved, tending to flowers in the garden, or expressing herself through painting.

A talented artist, she found beauty in color, nature, and fine detail.

Monique felt a deep connection to the ocean and was most at peace near the water.

She had a curious mind and a deep love for science and the unexplained, always eager to learn, question, and wonder about the world around her.

Known for her honesty, generosity, and big heart, Monique was always willing to help others.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and love that will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Daniel Mazerolle, and her daughter, Fanie Mazerolle (Travis); her cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Reaghan, Brennia, Jonalyn, Jack, and Clark, who were the greatest joy of her life. She is also remembered by her children’s father, Donald (Allie); and her brothers, Jean-Luc Aubry and Claude Aubry.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Monique generously donated her body to science to support medical education at Dalhousie University.

The family will gather privately at a later date to celebrate her life. In time, her ashes will be returned to her favourite place, Escuminac Beach.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
