Obituary of David Loughery
It is with great sadness that the family of David “Dave” James Loughery announce his passing which occurred on February 17, 2026 in Salt Springs, NB. Born is Saint John, NB on September 3, 1954, he was the eldest son of the late Talmadge and Faith (Killam) Loughery.
David spent his early years in Saint John and Sussex, where he attended Princess Anne and Prince Charles Primary and Junior High Schools before graduating from Sussex Regional High School. He later earned a Red Seal certificate in carpentry, a testament to his dedication and skill in his trade.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his sister, Patricia “Patti” Friars; sister-in-law, Gale Loughery (Bill); brother-in-law, Hans Boel (Heather); nephews: Neil Friars and Tom Loughery Jr.; and great nephew, Luke Folkins. Despite these losses, David’s memory will live on through his surviving family: sisters: Lynn Loughery (Mario Gagnon) of Fort Smith, NT and Heather Boel (Rien Vandervlist) of Sussex, NB; brother: Bill Loughery (Wanda) of Rothesay, NB and Tom Loughery (Bonnie) of Salt Springs, NB. David also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
David’s life was enriched by the friendships he cultivated over the years. Special mention is made of Norm Wainwright and Don Somers of Saint John, NB as well as Terry Jackman of Alberta. These friends held a special place in David’s heart.
David will be forever missed by those who loved him. His legacy lives on in the memories shared by family and friends alike.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB and will be held privately. A private family interment will be held in the spring at the Browns Cemetery, Bains Corner, NB. Donations in memory of David may be made to Browns Cemetery or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
