Obituary of Madeline Meritta Currie

On March 2, 2026, Madeline Meritta Currie passed away peacefully with family and those who hold her close in their hearts.

Madeline was born on September 18th, 1931, in Albert County to parents William and Bernice Howe . On July 5, 1952, she married the love of her life, Wallace. Together they raised perfect sons Wally, Dwight & Brent and gained her wonderful daughters Brenda, Gail & Shari; her beautiful granddaughters, whom she loved dearly: Cherise (Billy), Nicole & Kaitlyn (DJ); and her great grandchildren: Mikka, Lincoln, Kenzie & Reid of whom she spoke often to anyone who was around her. She will be sadly missed by her sisters, Barbara & Connie and her brothers and sisters-in-law: Karl & Betty, Brian & Lezlie; as well as many nieces & nephews, who will miss seeing her smile and hearing her laughter.

She will also be remembered by her special friends, Debra, Lou & Sandra, whom she loved seeing and sharing stories about past adventures.

Madeline is predeceased by her husband, Wallace; parents, William & Bernice; sisters Myra & Lois; and brothers, Melvin, Harold & Calvin.

The family wants to thank the extra mural nurses and the girls in the Sussex IV clinic who always had a warm blanket waiting for her. She will be missed by all who knew her. 

Her memory will forever live in our hearts.

The burial will take place at a later date.
