Obituary of Lawrence Stewart
STEWART, Lawrence Gordon
Larry Stewart, 79, of Hampton, and recently Corn Hill, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 following a brief illness at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in St. Catherines, Ontario, the son of Gordon and Aileen Stewart.
Larry graduated from Ryerson University in Engineering Technology then graduated from Guelph University in Landscape Architecture. He moved to Sussex, New Brunswick in 1971 and founded Basic Design Associates with his partner Jim Sackville, a company dedicated to sustainable landscapes. Larry was a talented designer and designed many downtown sites as well as the Bouctouche Dune project, the Hampton River Centre and many more. He will be remembered by his friends for firm beliefs, fantastic parties, great dogs, beautiful homes and a dedication to conservation.
Larry is survived by his son Jesse and sisters Judith and Heather.
There will be a celebration of his life on Sunday March 29th from 1-5pm at the Cedar Café, 2700 Rt. 890 Corn Hill, New Brunswick.
