Arthur Stein

Obituary of Arthur Stein

Arthur Stein, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 77 after a 3.5yr battle with leukemia. He passed peacefully and without any pain in his sleep. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Arthur spent the majority of his life in the city he loved, before moving to New Brunswick for the final 15 years of his life.

Arthur shared an extraordinary 54-year marriage with his devoted wife, Sharon Stein. Together they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and family. He was a proud father to his son, Brett, who now lives in Sweden, and a deeply cherished grandfather to David and Emma Stein. Despite the distance, Arthur maintained a close and meaningful relationship with his grandchildren, taking great joy in being part of their lives.

Family was at the center of everything Arthur did. He was a dedicated baseball and hockey coach, always a fantastic role model and guide for Brett. He loved gathering with family to watch sports—especially NFL games—and those shared moments became treasured traditions.

Arthur had a special passion for games of all kinds. Whether it was cards, backgammon, cribbage, or board games, he brought enthusiasm, and a competitive spirit to every round. These simple joys created lasting memories for everyone fortunate enough to play alongside him. He spent his last day playing crib and backgammon with his family. Doing the things he loved best with the people closest to him.

While he loved his family deeply, Arthur also cherished quiet moments in nature. He found peace sitting by a campfire, away from the noise of the world.

A lifelong fan and collector of Marvel comic books, Arthur’s knowledge and passion for the characters and chronology were unmatched. It was a hobby that brought him great happiness and one he loved to share with others.

Arthur will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, dedication to family, and the joy he brought into everyday moments. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories that will be carried forward by those who loved him.
