Obituary of David Chestnut

Mr. David William Chestnut of Sussex passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on April 17, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, on February 20, 1944, he was the son of the late George and Margaret (Hersey) Chestnut.

David was a dedicated employee of Bell Canada for over 20 years. In his earlier years, he found great joy in coaching minor hockey and soccer, and he also enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes.

He will live on in the hearts of his loved ones, including his daughter, Loretta Chestnut (David) of Kingston, Ontario; his son, Jeffrey Chestnut (Krista) of Napanee, Ontario; his sister, Anne Mallory of Sussex; and his brothers, Ken Chestnut (Brenda) of Toronto, Stephen Chestnut of Toronto, and Cecil Chestnut of Vancouver. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brothers: George Chestnut and Ronald Chestnut and by his sister, Sarah Mallory.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Newtown Baptist Cemetery.
