I met Dana when he wanted a custom order for his good friend Terance Morrell who had passed away in 2022. A very down to earth , loud (in a good way) funny guy. He definitely had a big heart . Sorry for your loss.

Thanks so much. Yes Dana definitely did have a big heart and he was always smiling and a very thoughtful little brother ❤. I will try to carry on with all of the good memories of years past. It's still quite a shock that he had passed so soon in life.

It was with great shock that we learned of Dana's death.
Dispite many years now since our move from Sussex, Dana found ways to keep in touch with us and our sons.
They were childhood friends and part of the neighborhood gang of kids that played together. How many times I would come home to find numerous bicycles spilled all over the driveway and kids in the yard. Dana of course being one. Our sincere sympathies to you all. We share in your grief and emtiness.

Dana was a good man. I'm so glad to have met him in 2000-2005 while I was living in Sussex. A few years after, he and a couple of his/ours friends made it out here to Calgary where they came by my work where we got to laugh and talk and I could help them fix their vehicle. Lastly, in 2018 while on a trip I saw him again back in Sussex he didn't quite recognize me at first but he soon did and after he was convincing me to park my motorhome in his yard and stay a while. At this time both Dana and myself were gifted children and our boys were great friend instantly. 8 years later and my son Harrison still talks about and misses Eddy. I love you and miss you Dana, my friend, you will always be in my heart buddy. I love you too Eddy, feel free to get a hold of me at harrynbooboo@hotmail.com

In 1995 I moved to Arnold Ave in Sussex. The Finniss' were my neighbour and still are. It's beyond heart wrenching that Dana at only 45 years old has passed leaving behind so many that loved him. As a young boy Dana would try to earn money shovelling out driveways full of snow knocking on my door often. As a businessman I admired his ambition and determination. As Dana grew into a young man his kindness, respect, generosity, humour and love remained true.
Only a week prior I gave his eldest son Edward a job doing yardwork and general clean-up. I was told that Dana was very proud of Edward and so he should be. I wish I could have told Dana how much Edward was like him. Kind, caring, gentle, respectful, loving just like his Dad. I'm still processing this great loss. Arnold Ave and beyond is grieving with the Finniss family. Like many I'm going to miss Dana and his welcoming smile. He was more than a neighbour. To Dana's family please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Symbolically a red Cardinal has recently arrived around our properties ❤️

To all of Dana's family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you make your way through this very difficult time. My earliest memory of Dana is at the bowling alley when I was coaching, he would sit on my knee as I taught him how to keep score. And the latest memories are that he came and chatted with me in my father's garage after my dad passed away so kind of him to stop in and spend that time talking. He also got me to make him a jean quilt and told me it didn't matter if it took 5 years, I am glad I got it finished for him before Christmas so he got to enjoy it. Dana was an amazingly kind and helpful person and I will miss seeing him as so many will.

Barb and family. I am shocked, saddened and in disbelief on the passing of Dana. Sending you all my deepest condolences.
Dana was very kind, polite, respectful and someone who was always willing to jump in and lend a hand. No matter who he met, he always walked away with a new friend. Spoke to anyone and everyone.
Dana and I go back to elementary days. When we used to do the buddy reader program during those days, Dana was assigned to me. I think we laughed and joked more than focusing on helping me to learn to read at a young age.
I spoke to Dana last summer when I was home for a visit. He was passing by my folks place on one of his many daily walks. He quickly spoke and asked about mom and dad and how things were going. That was Dana, concerned about everyone but himself, he was selfless, the needs of a friend came first before his own. Always a smile on his face no matter how hard life was for him.
Cherish your memories. I pray for peace and comfort for all of Dana’s family in the coming days and months ahead.
