Obituary of Lester Gallant

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Lester Harold Gallant, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, on May 4, 2026, just one month shy of his 76th birthday.

Born on June 5, 1950, in Elgin, New Brunswick, to Henry and Laura Gallant, Lester was a man defined by his tireless work ethic. Rarely content with a single job, he gave his best in everything he took on and took great pride in providing for those he loved. Above all else, Lester cherished his family, and that devotion was the cornerstone of his life.

Lester is survived by the mother of his children, Barbara; his son, Jason (Jill); his daughter, Amanda (Mark); six grandchildren, Eliza (Jacob), Kayla, Jacob, Aidan, Brandan, and Hunter; and two great-grandchildren, Andersen and William, with a third on the way. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched.

A special mention is deserved for his niece, Deborah Carr, whose devotion to her Uncle Lester in his final weeks(and long before) was a true gift to the entire family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Laura Gallant, and his siblings: Joseph, Yvonne, Katherine, James, Austin and Walter.

Lester will be remembered for his strength, his dedication, and the love he had for his family. He worked hard so others wouldn't have to, and that quiet generosity will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Dad. Your memory lives on in all who knew you.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 2:00–4:00pm.
