Ron and Audrey have been our neighbours for 30 years. My boys Mark and Nathan grew up with Ron teasing and talking to them all summer. He would drive over to my patio on his lawn tractor to have a chat. He loved his lawn tractor more than any of his other vehicles and he loved to keep his property in great shape. We will miss Ron very much!

He lived an amazing life! Growing up in New Brunswick, “Great Grampy”, “Grampy”, “Spike”, and yes, “Sir” lived an amazing 91 plus years. I met him when Cindy and I first dated – very quiet, yet determined to make sure his family was taken care of. I remember arriving in New Brunswick on a New Year’s Eve, after driving my old car just over 875 miles that day – but I arrived (as promised) just before midnight. A brief “nice to meet you” was reassurance to me that I did what was expected – lived up to my word.
Over many years, I tried to please him, not by engaging in the activities he loved like hunting, fishing, snowmobiling or camping, but by doing my BEST to protect his daughter – my Cindy, by being a protector, putting her on a pedestal as high as possible, and caring for my children, my grandchildren, and yes, keeping the cars clean.
“Grampy” was fortunate to have retired and still had over three decades of retirement to enjoy his family, his hobbies, and pursue a number of interests. During retirement, there were trips to Boston, trips to Florida, a term as a City Councilor, and I’m sure he knew every road, every apple tree, every stream and every snowmobile trail in the entire province. The world has lost a great man. Rest in eternal peace, Dad.

Dear Audrey and family,
I was so sad to read about Ron. He was a wonderful man and I really only had one meeting in Halifax years ago when you two drove me to the airport to come home.
Please do not hesitate to call me even though I am not of much use to you down here but I'm a good listener.
My deepest love and condolences to you and the family.
