Obituary of Susan Long

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Susan Marie (Cooper) Long announces her passing on May 27, 2026, in the comfort of her home, with her family by her side, at the age of 73.

Born on December 3, 1952, in Saint John, New Brunswick, She was the daughter of Winnifred (Thompson) Cooper and the late Donald Cooper.

Susan will live on in the hearts of her loving husband of 52 years, Arthur Long, and her cherished daughter, Tracy Long. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Jane Schimpf and her husband Glen and by her brother, Peter Cooper and his wife, Elizabeth. She will be greatly missed by several nieces and nephews and by her sister-in-law, Marion Long, who stood beside her through life’s toughest times, along with her many friends.

Susan will always be remembered for her unlimited strength and resilience. For more than 30 years, she faced health challenges with grace, maintaining her smile and demonstrating unwavering courage and faith through the hands of God. Her love, strength, and devotion will remain with those who knew and loved her — love beyond words, always and forever.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. A private family service will be held from Wards Creek Cemetery at a later date
