Obituary of Shirley Lavoie

Shirley Dawn Lavoie of Sussex formerly of Long Creek, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 10, 2026 at the age of 81.

Born in Studholm on June 9, 1945; she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Eretta (Kierstead) McLean.

She will live on in the hearts of her children: Joseph Lavoie and his wife Krista of Minto, Arthur Lavoie of Cumberland Bay, Norman Lavoie and his wife Kathleen of Union Settlement and Everett Lavoie and Brenda Coleman of Burton; her sister, Flora Murphy of Sussex; her brother Doug McLean of Belleisle Creek; her sisters-in-law: Elva McLean of Sussex, Jeanine McLean of Quispamsis and Marlene Bellows of Ajax, ON; her grandchildren: Justus (Rebecca), Jody, Jolaine (Johnny), Kane (Carrie Lee), Kaley (Jamie Gertridge) and Rebecca; her great grandchildren: Jaxson, Delilah, Charleston, Bennett, Cody, Corey, Caden, Cohen, James and George; ;as well as several nieces and nephews

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers: Ron McLean (Doreen), Bill MacLean, Walter McLean, Jack McLean (Almeda) and Talmage MacLean; her sisters: Anna Cunningham (Norman), Janet Habib (Jim) (George), and Eleanor Keirstead (Walter); her grandson, Troy Lavoie and by her great grandson, Keith Gertridge.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive Sussex (506-433-1176). At Shirley’s request no visitation or funeral will be held. The interment will take place in Pearsonville Cemetery.
