Obituary of Shirley Voutour

It is with profound sadness, and immense gratitude for a life so well lived, that we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Voutour on June 26th at the age of 78.

Born on June 9, 1948 in Plumweseep, NB; she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Whalen) Dibblee and the loving wife of the late Lawrence Voutour who passed away in 1978.

Whether she was cheering on her beloved Maple Leafs or Blue Jays, sharing stories, offering wisdom, or simply spending time with those she loved most, Shirley found joy in life’s simple moments. She enjoyed her time spent watching crime dramas, playing Solitaire and Bomber Man and doing puzzles.  She will be remembered for her stubbornness, her kindness, her big heart, her unwavering wit, and for the lasting impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Shirley lived a life defined by love, strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, and her home was always a place where good food, and cherished memories were shared.

She was a devoted mother to Lisa (Stephen) Boles of Kingston, Jean (Mike) Trites of Belleisle Creek, Vincent (Pam) Voutour of Colburg, John Voutour of Sussex, Albert Simpson of Sussex and Ann (William) Voutour of Moncton; and a proud grandmother to George Fair (Courtney), Sarah Dibblee, Katelyn Dibblee, Christopher Wortman, Mark Boles, Frank Boles, Sean Parlee, James Arsenault and Skylar Marshbank; as well as 5 great grandchildren.

She will also be deeply missed by her siblings: Mary McPhee, Jean Pickett, George Dibblee, Albert Dibblee, Leigh Dibblee (Shirley), Debbie Dibblee, Wayne Dibblee and Carl Dibblee (Judy); her special sister-in-law, Lorraine Bowland; as well as Lawrence’s Children: Paul (Gail) of Gagetown, John (Brenda) of Saskatchewan, Kenneth (Lana) of Saskatchewan and Mary Voutour of Gagetown and their families.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Edna Dibblee; her grandson, Joseph Samuel Wortman; her siblings: Phyllis Courtney, Phillip Dibblee, Joseph (Joe) Dibblee and Dennis Dibblee; Lawrence’s children: Anthony Voutour, Walter Voutour, Hilda Voutour, Larry Voutour, Doreen Barton and Cheryl Simpson and their brother, Gary Allen; and leaves behind countless relatives and dear friends who will forever treasure the love she gave so freely.

Although our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the values she instilled in all of us. Her love will continue to guide us, and her legacy will live on through the family she cherished above all else.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2026 from 2-6pm. The interment will take place in Plumweseep Cemetery.
