Obituary of Murray Cunningham
Murray Cunningham of Sussex, New Brunswick passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 28, 2026.
Born in Sussex, on January 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Bertha (Doucette) Cunningham.
Survived by sons Alvin (Barb) of Halifax NS, and John (Janet) of North Saanich BC, and his daughter Jane (Steve) of Grimsby ON; his grandchildren: Amie (Johnston), Natalie (Dave), Kaylie (Nick), Eric, Amanda (Nick), Josh, Riley (Asha), Cassidy; great-grandchildren Wolfgang, Dutch, Viggo, Poppy, Charlie, Aubrie, Kaiden, and Samaya; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Murray was predeceased by his wife Vera (Morrell) Cunningham, Sister Marjorie Meehan and brothers Harold, Buster, Kenneth, Sterling and Gordon.
Dad spent his career at Sussex Refrigeration and was a member of the volunteer Sussex Fire Department and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 20.
Dad loved spending his free time with Mom at the Shepody Road camp; hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and enjoying the outdoors. Dad’s passions were curling, playing pool, cards, hunting, fishing and being at the camp with his family and friends.
