Suzann, Sarah, Devin, and family,
Words cannot adequately express the depth of sorrow we feel for you at this difficult time. Our journey started together at 50 Tiffany Lane, St. John’s NL, in September 1995, where we entered the College for Officer Training. Life together at CFOT created communal bonds that we hold dearly in our hearts forever. Darren had the gift of making us laugh when we needed it most. Darren loved his family deeply, and along with Suzann, was devoted to following the paths the Lord faithfully. We remember being at a Leaders Retreat in Ontario where Darren spoke up about keeping the main thing the main thing in ministry – that being prayer and following the ways of Jesus. A true Messenger of God’s love, our sessional name.
We pray that God’s love and comfort will enfold each of you as you process your grief over Darren’s passing.
God is a refuge in times of trouble, and we find rest and comfort in Him and His promises:
Psalm 91:1-2
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
With much love,
Danny & Lori Pinksen (Majors),
Burnaby, British Columbia

Dear Suzanne and family,
We were deeply saddened to hear of Major Darren's passing.
On behalf of The Salvation Army Huntsville Corps, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Darren was deeply loved here in Huntsville. He faithfully represented The Salvation Army with compassion, humility, and a genuine love for people. He had a remarkable way of connecting with others, serving our community wholeheartedly, and bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. His warm spirit, infectious sense of fun, and unwavering faith made a lasting impact on so many lives.
May you find comfort in the countless lives he touched, the memories you shared, and the sure hope we have in Christ. We pray that God's peace, strength, and presence will surround you and your family in the days ahead.
With our deepest sympathy, love, and prayers,
Majors Dwayne and Brandi LeDrew

Suzann,
What do I say? This world has lost a beautiful soul. I will never forget our last visit together before we had to leave Saint John. Darren praying over us and our journey will be forever etched in my memory. We wish we could be there in person, but we rejoice that Darren is whole once again and has the best seat in the house. Know that we are praying for you, Devin, Sarah and Keith in these days.
Well done good and faithful servant!

Dearest Suzann and family;
What can we say? You have lost your God given life’s journey companion. Your loss is real, your grief is indescribable, yet there remains the reality of God’s gift to the world in the person of Darren.
You have all been a blessed family to have had Darren as a husband and Dad. Those of us who knew Darren, even a little, saw in him the love he expressed to people, the joy he had in making people laugh (He did this so easily) and the deep faith he professed.
We are so sorry we cannot be there to share in these moments with you. We send our love, hugs and prayers and the belief that Darren is now soaring as an eagle, with a healthy body and with the joy unspeakable that Jesus promised.
Of this we can be certain “He who began a good work in Darren was faithful to complete it.” (Philippians 1:6)
And also bring to mind that… “those who trust in the LORD for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.” (Isaiah 40:31)
Deepest condolences, hugs and prayers are winging their way to you.
Owen & Sandra

To Suzanne, Sarah, Devin and Family, My condolences on losing such an inspiring person.
Going to Siminds high with Devin we would all occasionally hang out, and than at Full Gospel Assembly church for youth group with Roger Reid where I met Darren sometimes when he was there assisting Roger with the youth group (and also that one time Devin brought in Rock Band, that was a good time). We also got to give back to the community by assisting the kitchen at the Salvation Army church here in Saint John, where we donated our time by doing things fornthe kitchen as well as other tasks around the church.
I may not have known you very well Darren, but I am thankful that I got to meet you those handful of times as well as being acquaintances throughout High School with Devin.
Rest In Piece Sir.

Suzann, Sarah (Keith), Devin, & the extended Wiseman & Andrews families.
We were saddened to hear of the passing of our good friend, Darren. We loved him dearly, and know he loved us too, especially "Stevie." It was such a blessing to see both of you last week. We realized then that Darren's time on this earth was coming to an end. Just in conversation, he told us he had joy and peace. This joy was evidence as he conversed with the staff, and even prayed with them. As I said to Darren as were leaving his hospital room, "This is not good by, but see you later." I look forward to that reunion day and look forward to him running out to meet me. As Paul said, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Treasure the memories and hold them close. May God's comfort and peace be yours in the days to come. Wish we could be with you but due to prior commitments we will be in AB at that time. Be assured of our thoughts and prayers.
