It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Betty Marlene McKnight announces her passing at the Mill Cove Nursing Home on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Born in Sussex, NB on April 8, 1938, Betty was a daughter of the late Edmund and Marguerite (Enright) Keirstead.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and was thought of as Grammie by many. She loved time with family, friends and extended family. She would never miss a family event. Her interests were bingo and cards with the ladies. She especially loved music shows.

On her many drives, she always took her dish of gum drops. She loved being busy and being out and about with family and friends. She was a kind and helpful person, always thinking of others.

Betty is survived by her children: Barb Cunningham (Russell) of Sussex, NB; Connie Perry (Wayne) of Keirstead Mountain, NB; and Geraldine Boyd (Arnie) of Salmon Creek, NB; her brother Gerald Keirstaed of Gibbon Mountain, NB; her sisters:  Eileen McDougall of Ontario and Lois Stilwell (Neil) of Petitcodiac, NB; her grandchildren: Jackie, Tina, Kim, Anthony, Marlene, Erica, Tanya, Jake, Junior, and Angie; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and loving husband, Gerald, Betty was predeceased by her brother, Ronald.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex 506) 433-1176, from where a celebration of Betty's life will be held on Wednesday, July 22 at 2:00pm.
