Obituary of Patricia Ferris

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia Maureen Ferris (née Sear), surrounded by her loving family.

Pat grew up in Penobsquis, N.B., the daughter of Clinton and Marion (née Carr) Sear. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her family was always at the centre of her life, and nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with those she loved.

Pat will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the warmth she brought to the lives of others. She had a wonderful sense of humour and a way of making people feel welcome and cared for. Her deep and abiding faith was an important part of her life and a source of great strength and comfort. She was a devoted parishioner of Trinity Anglican Church in Sussex and a proud member of the Anglican Church Women (ACW).

Pat enjoyed baking, travelling, family gatherings, cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays, and the simple pleasure of sharing a cup of tea with someone she loved. She worked for TD Bank for many years in Bramalea, Halifax, and Calgary, forming lasting friendships everywhere she went.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, Clinton and Marion (née Carr) Sear.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Wayne; her children, James (Jenny), Jennifer (Paul), and Patrick (Jami); her cherished grandchildren, Caroline, Scotlyn, and Londyn; her siblings, Bill, Rick, and Sharon; and her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Saturday, August 15 at 11:00 am from Trinity Anglican Church (853 Main Street Sussex, New Brunswick).

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Kiwanis Nursing Home for the kindness, dignity, and compassionate care they provided to Pat throughout the four years she made her home there, and especially for the comfort and tenderness they gave her during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick, Trinity Anglican Church in Sussex, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Although Alzheimer’s gradually took away so much, it could never take away the love Pat gave, the lives she shaped, or the place she will always hold in the hearts of her family.

Rest peacefully, Mum. You did a wonderful job, and you were deeply loved.
