Obituary of Arthur Long

A. ‘Arthur’ Long of Liverpool, Nova Scotia, passed away at home on August 18, 2026. Born on July 29, 1942, on Snider Mountain, New Brunswick, he was the eldest son of the late John Eslie and Esther Edgar Long.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beryl (Johnston) Long, his daughters: Diane Belding and Patricia Long; and sons: Bert (Tanya), John, Danny (Megan), and Martin (Vanessa). He will be remembered by his grandchildren Nathan, Toni (Ryan), Annie, Gabriel (Alex), Jamie (Haytham), Colin, Aynsley (Caleb), Cassidy, Caleb (Jasmine), Esther, and Samuel, and step-grandchildren Katie, Mark and Tessa. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Rayan, Carter, Lina and Evangeline, sisters Luella and Arletta, brother Walter (Coni), sister-in-law Diane, and several nieces and nephews.

Arthur was predeceased by his parents, his sister Elizabeth, brother, Frank, and brothers-in-law, Ernie, Richard and Warren.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A private burial service for immediate family will be held in the Snider Mountain United Baptist Church Cemetery on Snider Mountain, New Brunswick, on Tuesday, August 25th, followed by a reception for family and friends hosted by Wallace’s Funeral Home in Sussex, New Brunswick from 4:00- 7:00 pm. A further reception will be held on Friday, August 28th from 4:00- 7:00 pm at the Liverpool Fire Hall, Liverpool Nova Scotia. No flowers by request.
