Wes’s haying days were largely behind him by the time Gail and I caught up with him in 2011. But he and I always enjoyed reminiscing about the Maple Leafs’ heyday under Punch Imlach back in the 60s — 4 Stanley Cups in 6 years!
The last time I saw him, and the last time we bemoaned the Leafs’ recent woes, was last winter at the Saint John Regional. It was also the last time we prayed together and talked about the things of God, something that was supremely important to Wes (even more than hockey). As a long-time stalwart of Keirstead Mountain Baptist Church, he rarely missed Sunday-morning worship (even when it wasn’t at K.M.), or Mid-Week Fellowship, or our monthly “Young at Heart” gatherings.
Gail and I were enormously blessed to have known him. We look forward to catching up with him again — in the glories of heaven. Praying Christ’s shalom to all who grieve.

We were saddened to hear of Wes’ passing. We didn’t know that he had moved to Mill Cove Nursing Home. Wes was a good friend to Neil and I but especially to Murray, they had so many great times together. He may be gone but not forgotten, Neil and Edna Steen.

We are sorry to hear of Wesley’s passing. We really enjoyed having him in our “Young at Heart” group on the Millstream Baptist pastorate for many years. Also the tug-of-war times at the Pastorate picnics!
God bless and comfort the families at this time.

Our deepest sympathy to all of Wes family and friends. Gordon always enjoyed their many phone calls remembering lots of past memories and keeping up on the latest news. Enjoyed seeing Wes at the bowling alley which he enjoyed playing and meeting all his friends. May cherished memories bring comfort to all.

I have very fond memories of Wes since he worked alongside my family haying for years and was a big part of my childhood and also adult life. He always had a smile on and never complained and always treated us kids great . Sorry for your loss and rest in peace Wes

I met Wesley when I worked at Shur Gain. He and his mother would come in together and they were both so pleasant and friendly and he had stories to tell then, I would often find them at the Dairy Queen when I was getting groceries at the Save-Easy. I often wondered about him. Rest in peace Wesley.

We are so sad to hear of Wes's passing. He had such a wealth of information about the Fenwick history and was always happy to spend time with us to tell stories and share pictures. He had a exceptional memory and could remember names, dates, and even the names of the animals in old family pictures. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Wes.

Love and prayers to your family and friends. I will always remember you from our days at the little country school and the times I spent at your home when we were kids. I know you never forgot me even though my desire to see the world took me away, but you were always there when I returned asking question about my travels. You were a genuine friend, down to earth and real in every way. Your faith in God was always with you and now your real journey has just begun. Peace be with you.

I was one of Wes' caretakers at Green Meadows.
He was the most pleasant man and always very respectful. He had great stories and yes, loved his meals. ☺️
He will be deeply missed. Hugs to his family and friends ❤️

We will miss spending time with you and sharing memories. From the time I was an infant, we spent vacation time on the farm. It had to be in August so Dad could help with the haying! Wes, you were such a wealth of knowledge when I was tracing the Fenwick/Lloyd family trees. You did love homemade sweets and date squares were one of your favorites and I loved making them for you. Your faith was strong and I know that now you are truly happy. You will always be in our hearts!

I met Wesley while visiting his mother Lillian at their home on the mountain 25 years ago. He never forgot me after all of those years. If he was outside he always waved to me when I drove by in the extra mural vehicle when I honked the horn. In later years I visited Wesley when he was under our nursing care. He never forgot me and we had so many stories that we shared. I’ll never forget him. Rest in peace Wesley. It was a pleasure knowing you.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Fenwick. It certainly has been awhile since I had seen him but I definitely enjoyed chatting with him when he used to shop the Sussex Superstore. May he rest easy.
