Obituary of Wesley Fenwick
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John “Wesley” Fenwick, who passed away peacefully at the Mill Cove Nursing Home on September 13, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born in Keirstead Mountain on October 5, 1939, Wesley was the son of the late Lloyd and Lillian (Stackhouse) Fenwick.
Although Wesley did not have immediate family of his own, he was fortunate to be surrounded by people who cared deeply for him. He will be lovingly remembered by his longtime friend and caregiver, June Palmer, and her family; he will also be missed by his many cousins, friends, and those in the community who came to know him throughout his life.
Wesley was a true country man who spent his life farming on the family homestead in Keirstead Mountain. He loved being outdoors and was happiest enjoying the familiar surroundings of home and farm.
He also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Wesley was a member of the Seniors Bowling Group and enjoyed listening to the radio, always interested to hear what talk shows might be on. His faith was important to him, and he enjoyed watching church services on television as well as being a proud member of the Keirstead Mountain Baptist Church. Wesley also had a great appreciation for a good meal. Food was one of his favourite things, and a trip to the All Seasons for something to eat was always a welcome outing.
Wesley lived a quiet and familiar life, rooted in the community and the family homestead he knew so well. He will be remembered fondly by those who shared in his life, cared for him, visited with him, and called him a friend.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176), from where visitation will take place on Monday, September 21, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Wesley’s Life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel immediately following the visitation. The interment will take place in the Keirstead Mountain Baptist Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Wesley may be made to the Keirstead Mountain Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
