Mrs. Helen Gertrude McPhee, of McGregor Brook and formerly of Sussex Corner, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre, on March 4, 2002. Born in Sussex, NB on April 3, 1911, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Cassie (Robinson) Lucas. Helen was the beloved wife of the Late Albert E. McPhee who passed away in 1979. Helen is survived by her son George and his wife Phyllis of McGregor Brook, her sister Evelyn Schurman, of Brampton, Ont., her sister-in-law Helen Lucas of Sussex Hazel Brace of Moncton, 4 grandchildren Judy, Larry, Kathy and Michael, 8 great grandchildren Cassie, Chelsea, Ben, Stephanie, Shawn, Laura, Brendan, and Lucas, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Percy and Garfield and her sister Dorothy Hayes. Helen was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 who will hold a tribute at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 6:45pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Tuesday 2-4, 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Wednesday March 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Cosman officiating. A private family interment will take place at Kirk Hill Cemetery. Donations made to Kiwanis Nursing Home Foundation, Shriner's Hospital or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
