Obituary of Gordon Cunningham
MR. GORDON DEXTER CUNNINGHAM, of Kiwanis Nursing Home and formerly of Magnolia Ave. Sussex, NB passed away at Sussex Health Centre on August 11, 2001. Born in Sussex, New Brunswick on September 15, 1911, Gordon was the son of the late Charles and Florence (Paterson) Cunningham. Gordon has left to mourn his beloved wife Constance (Nice) Cunningham, his daughter, Dawn Robinson and her husband Kenneth of Cambridge, Ontario, his brother Charles M. Cunningham of Isle Maligne, Quebec, 5 grandchildren, Michelle Webber and her husband David of Alberta, J. Bruce MacKenzie-Haines and his wife June, Gordon MacKenzie-Haines and his wife Beverley, Robin Stickley and her husband Philip and Craig MacKenzie-Haines and his wife Sabina, all of Ontario, several Great Grandchildren, 1 niece and 1 nephew. His brother Angus has predeceased him. Gordon retired from the Aluminum Co. of Canada after 42 years service. He was a member of the Saguency Regiment in Quebec, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176); the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday 2-4,7-9, at Wallace Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held from Sussex United Baptist on Monday, August 13, 2001 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Gordon Walker officiating, with the interment at Kirk Hill Cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship with the family at Kings Manor, following the committal. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 will hold a tribute at the funeral home Sunday evening at 6:45pm Donations made to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
