Obituary of Vera Jeffery
Vera was born in Hunters Home on May 1, 1941; she was the daughter of the late John Wood and Isabel (Perry) Wood.
Vera was a member of All Saint Anglican Church in Bagdad and the Postmaster at the Youngs Cove Post Office from 1974 until her retirement in 2001.
Vera will be lovingly remembered by Glen, her beloved husband of 54 years; her daughter, Pamela Jeffery of Australia; her two sons: Thomas and his wife Lorna of Youngs Cove and Derek and his wife Sae of Port Coquitlam, BC; three brothers: Bev Wood and his wife Eva of Coles Island, Charlie Wood and his wife Marjorie of Hunters Home and Jerry Wood and his wife Judy of Drurys Cove Rd; three sisters: Hilda Thorne and her husband Ron of Edmonton, Lizzie Steen of Apohaqui and Dorothy Daigle and her husband Edmund of Sussex; four grandchildren: Kyle Jeffery of Bagdad and Matthew Jeffery of Port Coquitlam, BC, Paul Phillips and his wife Nicole of Surrey, BC, Lynn Carvery and her husband Spencer of Lower Sackville, NS; five great grandchildren: Lane, Zoe, Connor, Robyn and Chase; her sister in law Betty Wood of Mahone Bay and her brother-in-law, Leon Sleep of Coles Island; as well as several nieces and nephews. Vera is predeceased by her brother, Earl; her sister, Bernice Sleep and her brothers-in-law, John Steen and Clarence Beach.
Mrs. Vera Jeffery of Youngs Cove passed away at the Oromocto Hospital on November 4, 2012 at the age of 71.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).
A service celebrating Vera's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Thursday November 8th, 2012 at 11:00am followed by a reception.
The interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery, Bagdad, NB at a later date.
