Obituary of Ida Rita Mason
Ida was born in Head of Millstream on June 8, 1917. She was the daughter of the late William and Julia (Ross) Parlee and the wife of the Late Hartley H. Mason who passed away in 1967.
Ida was a former employee of Barbour Foods, a member of the Women's Liberal Assoc. and Senior Citizens Organization. She enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge; she loved to travel, quilt, needle point, garden, bake, read, crossword puzzles, entertain friends and especially enjoyed her cup of King Cole Tea.
Ida will live on in the hearts of her two daughters: Celia Cobbett and her husband Donald of Shediac, Linda Murphy and her husband Terry of Riverview, two sons: Bill Mason and Linda Martin of Sussex, Walter Mason and his wife Gloria of Petitcodiac; her sister,Theresa Fair of Head of Millstream; her brother, Murray Parlee of Belleisle; ten grandchildren: Tamara Robichaud and her husband Jake, Paula Mason, Darren Cobbett and Suzanne DesRoches, James Cobbett and his wife Sara, Brent Murphy and his wife Christine, Craig Murphy and his wife Gabriela, Gina Mason, Shane Mason and his wife Kelly, Joel Mason and his wife Katie and Tasha Mason; nine great grandchildren: Justin, Jessica, Kayla, Kailyn, Alexis, Kali, Daytona, Liam and Vivian.
Mrs. Ida Rita (Parlee) Mason of Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on Sunday April 7th, 2013 at the age of 95. She is predeceased by her daughter, Doris and two brothers: Charles and William. and two sisters: Mary Young and Frances Goggin.
She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Tuesday April 9th, from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday April 10, 2013 at 10:00am, followed by a reception with the family. A private family interment will take place at St. Phillips Roman Catholic Cemetery.
