Karrl was born in Hillsdale on April 8, 1935; he was the son of the late Austin and Mary (Allaby) Johnston. Karrl is survived by his wife Helen (Owens), his children: Harvey Johnston and his wife Carolyn of Hampton, Pamela Jennings and her husband Albert of Baxter's Corner, Karla Kilpatrick and her husband Mike of Penobsquis, John Johnston and his wife Louise of Saint John, Corey Johnston and his wife Karen of Saint John, Manford Johnston and his wife Janet of Codys, Lyndon Johnston and his wife Linda Saint John, Krista Daley and her husband Mark of Saint John, Newton Johnston and his wife Lori of Penobsquis, Allan Johnston and his wife Cynthia of Belleisle, Matthew Johnston and Russ of Halifax, Cliff Johnston and his wife Tania of Saint John, and Kristina Watters and her husband Dale of Codys; five sisters: Winnona "Winnie" Parlee and her husband Mac of Sussex, Evelyna McKay and her husband Stewart of East Earltown, NS, Dionne Yeomans and her husband James of Salt Springs, Betty Bettle and her husband Paul of Sussex, Juanita Keys of McGregor Brook; three brothers: Travis Johnston and his wife Phyllis of Upham, Humphrey Johnston and his wife Janie of Hillsdale, LeVerne Johnston and his wife Gail of Manitoba Rd; his grandchildren: Neil, Amy, Sara, Albert, Carol, Crystal, Nicholas, Kelvin, Jeff, Christopher, Craig, Brittany, Steven and Sarah, Madison, Nick, Alexis, Olivia, Adam, Corey, Meaghan, Danielle, Morgan, Cayleigh, Reily, Kurtis, Katelynn, Warren, Katie, Sapphia, Consuelo, Jesse, Robert, Evelyn, Bailey and Dawson; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Karrl Austin Johnston of Saint John passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 5, 2013 at the age of 78. He was predeceased by his son, Gene; three brothers: Anglin and Cyrus, an infant brother Gorman his sister-in-law Marlene Johnston, his brother-in-law Fred Dempster and by his nephew Scott Dempster. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Thursday 1-3 and 6-8pm. A service celebrating Karrl's life will be held from Sussex Baptist Church on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm, followed by a time of fellowship with the family in the Church Hall. Donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Hillsdale Baptist Church or to the NB Diabetic Foundation.
