Obituary of Kathleen Hazel Campbell
Miss Kathleen "Kennie" Campbell was born in Sussex; she was the daughter of the late Warren L. and Bessie A. Campbell.
She was retired from the merchandizing accounting departments of Eaton's and Ford Pharmacy. She was a member of the Eaton's Quarter Century Club, a former member of Heritage Moncton, Y.M.C.A and Trefoil Guild of Girl Guides.
The "love of her life" was Guiding. For sixty years, she served on the district division and provincial level of the Girl Guides of Canada. Kennie was "Captain" to the daughters of many Moncton families teaching them integrity, trust, and loyalty to God, family and each other. As a member of the Trefoil Guild of the Girl Guides of Canada, she was both loved and respected for her long service and her dedication. She touched many lives and was truly loved by all who knew her.
Kennie attended Central United Church where she taught Sunday school for many years, served on the congregational board, a member of the Mark's Unit of the U.C.W. and the church choir.
Miss Kathleen Hazel Campbell of Villa Providence passed away at her residence on May 10, 2013.
As the last surviving member of her immediate family she leaves to mourn several cousins: Evelyn Gray of Moncton, Audrey Sponagle, Douglas Campbell, Mae Campbell, and Barbara Campbell all of Sussex, as well as by several friends who were special to her for over 60 years. Kennie is predeceased by her parents, her sister Doris and by two brothers: Percy and Ronald.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). In honour of Kennie's wishes a private graveside service was held at Kirk Hill Cemetery, Sussex.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held from Shediac Bay Community Church at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a Memorial account at Scotiabank on St. George Street in Moncton, NB would be greatly appreciated, to assist with funeral expenses and other obligations.
