Marjorie was born in Smith Creek on June 18, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Cecil and Ruth (Coates) Payne and was the wife of the late Allan Sterling. Marjorie loved bingo, playing cards and visiting Dandy's Restaurant. Marjorie will live on in the hearts of her daughters: Phyllis Crothers of Smith Creek, Diane Sterling of Picadilly and Judy Sterling of Lower Cove; her sons: Brian Sterling and Leslie (Michele Gilchrist) all of Smith Creek; her sister Elsie Meehan of Sussex; her brother Donnie Payne of Sussex; nine grandchildren: Kevin Higgins (Rosie) of Alberta, Lisa Beach and her husband Lawrence of White Mountain, Scott Belding and his wife Charlene of Fundy Park, Jenna Sterling of Nova Scotia, Jason Adair and his wife RuthAnn and Jeffery Adair of Sussex, Cory Cunningham (Kelsie Muir) of Smith Creek, Shawn Thomas of Penobsquis, Leann Crouse of Poodiac, Ashton Sterling and Colter Sterling both of Fox Hill, 16 great grandchildren: Daniel, Kalen, Emerson, Ryan, Devon, Cole, Chelsey, Katrina, Montana, Alivia, Carter, Colen, Savannah, Aiden, Brooklyn and Addison; as well as several nieces and nephews. Marjorie is predeceased by her son, Earl who passed away in 1964. Mrs. Marjorie Ruth Sterling of Post Rd Sussex Corner passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on May 14, 2013 at the age of 74. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Thursday from 6-8pm. A service celebrating Marjorie's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 am. The interment will take place at Gosline Cemetery.
