He taught French and Gym at Hampton High School in 1968 and 1969. He also taught at Chipman High School and then went on to teach French in Richmond, Quebec for about a decade. After leaving teaching, he worked in security for Irving. Jimmy bought and sold collectibles of all kinds and descriptions and frequented auctions, garage sales and yard sales. He traveled across the country and throughout the United States. Jimmy was a thoughtful friend and a wonderful neighbour, picking and giving his friends and neighbours violets, blueberries, cranberries, blackberries and raspberries. He loved to hunt and fish and could recognize any bird in the woods. He was very well read and enjoyed a good discussion. Jimmy will be lovingly remembered by his two nieces: Catherine Perry Meen and Nancy Jane Meen; his brother-in-law John Meen; his aunt and uncle, Norma and Arthur Jones; his cousins: Catherine Black Bradshaw. Terry, Donna, Judy and Eugene, Harold and Joan, Catherine and Ronald, Sylvia and Bill, Rosalie and Jack and Bobby. Jimmy is also survived also by a host of Perry and Connell cousins, notably Allan Connell, whom he considered as his nephew, as well as by good friends and neighbours, near and far. The community as a whole is diminished by his loss. Jimmy died suddenly in the house where he was born on May 17, 2013.
