Obituary of Lois Vida Ingersoll

Lois "Posie" was born on February 8, 1924 in Seal Cove, Grand Manan and was the daughter of the late Sirdar Kitchener and Florence Maude (Foster) Ingalls. For many years, prior to a period of failing health, Posie was a faithful and active member of First Wesleyan Church in Saint John. She was a retired registered nurse, having graduated from Chipman Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in St. Stephen, N.B. and for a time nursed at the Montreal Children's Hospital. She studied Operating Technique and Management in New York and became operating supervisor at Moncton City Hospital, as well as working in various places where her husband taught school. Posie will be remembered as a loving wife who was always very supportive of Art's teaching career and music ministry with the Gospelaires. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a friend to many, especially well known for her great sense of humor. Friends and family were always welcome in her home and cottage at Beulah Camp, Brown's Flat, where she and Art enjoyed spending their summers. Posie will live on in the hearts of her beloved husband of 62 years, Arthur Ingersoll of Sussex; her daughter, Marti Trafton and her husband Rev. Robert of Sussex; granddaughter, Dr. Jane Brasseale and her husband Dr. Beau of Bowling Green, Kentucky; her grandson, Scott Trafton and his wife Brittany of Sussex; her brother, Wayne Ingalls and his wife Cheryl of Moncton; her sister-in-law, Kay Ingersoll (the late Rev. Ralph Ingersoll) of Moncton; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. The passing of Mrs. Lois "Posie" Vida (Ingalls) Ingersoll occurred at Great Oaks Special Care Home on May 29, 2013 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Theda Lively and brother Carl Ingalls. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176. Visitation will be held at the Sussex Wesleyan Church on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 1:00-2:15pm, followed by a Celebration of Posie's life at 2:30pm. There will be a time of fellowship with Posie's family immediately following the service. If you are considering making a memorial donation, the family has suggested Beulah Camp/Caton's Island, Kingswood University or the organization of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. www.wallacefuneralhome.com
